Social media can be a great tool for fund raising and for engaging your constituents if it is powered by a smart strategy. Coming up with a successful strategy, however, requires a good amount of knowledge. The good news is that you can find information regarding any topic on the Internet. The bad news is that sorting through the information can be overwhelming and time-consuming. To help you get started, I have hand-picked 10 SlideShare presentations you’d actually want to spend time reading!

Introduction to Social Media

Fundraising with Social Media

Twitter, Facebook & YouTube Tips and Tactics

Measuring Results

Social Media Studies

Social media is about tearing down the artificial walls between your constituents and your nonprofit. Many of the old rules of marketing, fund raising and outreach no longer apply. It is no longer one-way communication. Social media is participatory. People, through social media, are re-defining the way organizations interact with their supporters. Donors, volunteers, interns and supporters want to connect with you in an authentic way. Your organization can leverage the power of social media to advance its mission. Engage people in your cause and you will see results. Don’t wait any longer to be part of the conversation.

P.S. In the spirit of helping each other, I invite you to share your expertise and knowledge on Social Media. If you’d like to recommend a presentation or video on how nonprofits use social media, please don’t hesitate. What would you add to this list?

      Leigh,

To download the Power Point Presentation, click on the “menu” button (at the bottom of the presentation). Then click “download.” You need to be a SlideShare member (free). If you don’t have an account, you can sign up for it. It takes 5 minutes to do so. I hope this helps!
